Refund policy
Dive Like a Girl is a small, purpose-led brand often creating limited-release divewear, ocean-positive products, and community-driven ocean adventures. Many of our items are made to order or offered as exclusive pre-orders. Our events and trips are also capped and custom-designed for an intimate, unforgettable experience.
We ask that you shop and book thoughtfully, as we are unable to offer refunds in many cases. Below outlines your rights and our responsibilities under New Zealand consumer law.
PRODUCT RETURNS & REFUNDS
Change of Mind
We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, incorrect sizing, or personal preference. This includes:

Made-to-order items

Sale or discounted items
Please read the product descriptions and sizing charts carefully. You’re welcome to reach out with any questions before purchasing.
Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
Under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act (CGA), you are entitled to a replacement, or refund if a product is faulty or not as described.
If your item:

Arrives damaged

Has a manufacturing fault

Is different from what you ordered
Please contact us at britney@divelikeagirlnz.com within 14 days of receiving your order. Include:

Your order number

A description of the issue

Clear photos of the fault or error
If your claim is approved, we’ll offer an appropriate resolution: replacement, store credit, or refund — in line with the CGA.
Returns Eligibility
If a return is approved:

Items must be unworn, unused, unwashed, and in original condition with tags and packaging intact.

Return shipping is the buyer’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

We recommend using tracked shipping, as we’re not liable for items lost in return transit.
We reserve the right to decline a return if it arrives in unsellable condition or outside the required timeframes.
Refunds
If a refund is approved, it will be processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days. Refunds are for the item only and do not include original shipping unless the item was faulty.
If your order qualified for free shipping and a return brings your order below that threshold, the cost of shipping may be deducted from your refund.
EVENTS, TRIPS & WORKSHOPS — CANCELLATION POLICY
All Dive Like a Girl events and trips are intentionally small and require significant planning, logistics, and upfront costs. Your spot is held just for you, so we ask that you book with intention.
Cancellation by You
If you cancel:

Before the outlined final cancellation date for the trip: you may be entitled to a full refund (not incl. deposit)

After the outlined final cancellation date for the trip: No refund unless your spot can be filled (not incl. deposit). It is Dive Like a Girl's responsibility to fill this space- due to specific personal & safety requirements needed for our trips, you are not able to personally switch your ticket with somebody else.

No-shows: No refund
Cancellation by Us
If we must cancel an event or trip due to weather, minimum numbers, or unforeseen circumstances:

You’ll receive a partial or full refund, or potentially alternative dates to utilize your payment with.

We highly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation, as Dive Like a Girl is not liable for third-party costs (flights, accommodation, etc.).
Transfers
It is Dive Like a Girl's responsibility to fill spaces- due to specific personal & safety requirements needed for our trips, you are not able to personally switch/transfer your ticket with somebody else.
Refunds on Events with Merchandise
If your trip includes apparel or divewear (e.g., exclusive gear, gift packs), refunds may be partial if these items have already been produced and delivered.
